Everglade – Spying on Kate Moss

The renowned fashion photographers Inez van Lamswerde and Vinoodh Matadin capture Kate Moss’s unbridled performance on the set of the fall/winter 2010/11 Balmain campaign. This surreal short film takes its title from the haunting Antony and the Johnsons track that serves as its soundtrack.



Rouge Louboutin by David Lynch

Nothing is more iconic than the red Louboutin sole. A staple on the well-heeled everywhere, most people don’t know that the inspiration for the red sole actually came from women’s nail polish. The French designer Christian Louboutin had the idea to paint the bottom of his shoes red while mocking up his very first prototype beside his assistant—who was painting her nails in the bright shade. That was over two-decades ago. Now, for the first time ever Christian Louboutin is stepping into the beauty arena with a line of polishes. And where better to start than with the blood red hue that made his shoes an object of desire for women everywhere.

Alexander McQueen AW06 – Kate Moss Hologram

A hologram of Kate Moss flailing around like a ghostly appeared on stage at the March 2006 show of Alexander McQueen at Paris Fashion Week. Alexander McQueen projected the image in tribute to Kate Moss, who was by then on a low point of career after being caught with cocaine six months earlier. In 2011 Kate Moss payed tribute to Alexander McQueen, who committed suicide a year ago, in a magazine shoot for Haper’s Bazaar. “There’s never ever going to be anybody like him.” (Kate Moss)
